Petaling Jaya, 25 February 2023 – Yayasan SELGATE, a member of SELGATE Corporation Sdn Bhd and a company limited by guarantee dedicated to providing aid to the underprivileged, has organized its inaugural charity golf tournament – Kejohanan Golf Amal Yayasan SELGATE 2023. The event took place at Seri Selangor Golf Club on 25 February 2023, where golfers from corporate partners came together to raise funds for the less fortunate.
The tournament, in which 128 players participated, aims to raise funds in support of Yayasan SELGATE’s ongoing efforts to provide aid to the underprivileged in Malaysia, focusing on supporting community health and wellness, education, and much more through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes.
Through this charity golf tournament, Yayasan SELGATE managed to raise funds amounting close to RM270,000 as a result of contributions from corporate companies and partners, individuals and player participation fees.
The event is sponsored by various organizations, including The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) as the Diamond Sponsor and Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd as the Platinum Sponsor. Shaharul added that the reception and success of this charity golf tournament acts as a pioneer for Yayasan SELGATE to organize similar tournaments or programmes in the future.
Yayasan SELGATE has been providing aid to the underprivileged since 2019, with contributions over RM1 million to thousands of individuals and families across Malaysia. The organization provides assistance to those who are facing financial hardship, medical issues, and other challenges like being victims of natural disasters, by providing food, healthcare and education. Yayasan SELGATE’s mission is to create a more equitable society, where everyone has access to basic necessities and the opportunity to succeed.
