A total of 19,012 heads of households (KIR) have received assistance through the Kad Perak Sejahtera (KPS) programme to date, as part of the Perak State Government’s efforts to support low-income groups, said Menteri Besar of Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
Introduced in 2019, this initiative ensures that the B40 group, as well as poor and hardcore poor households, can access essential food supplies.
“The KPS can be used at 291 registered shops and supermarkets, with a total annual allocation of RM1,200 per recipient (RM100 per month),” he stated after officiating the Kad Perak Sejahtera Assistance Handover Ceremony at Dewan Bankuet, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
The state government is targeting 20,000 recipients, reinforcing its commitment to prioritising the welfare of the people. Kinta District recorded the highest number of applications due to its five parliamentary constituencies and large population, with 1,002 new applications received and 915 approved, including 430 from Kinta District alone.
