SLIM RIVER: Perak continues the Perak Prihatin Program which was introduced last year to help the target group involving low-income families.
Chairman of the Women, Family and Social Welfare Development Committee, Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin said, in 2019, a total of RM22 million allocation will be provided for 17,000 recipients while this year the allocation will be RM25.2 million for 20,000 recipients.
The application to participate in obtaining the concerned card is still open and it is approved according to the phase.
“Every application will be investigated first, including the screening of the Social Welfare Department to ensure that only those who are truly eligible to receive it,” he said.
The Perak Prihatin Program involves two types of programs, namely the Food Card Program and the Health Card.
This program is a financial assistance scheme to cover the expenses of necessities and the cost of health services in private clinics or medical centers.
Perak Prihatin cardholders are eligible to purchase basic food items worth RM80 per month at registered grocery stores as well as access to health care up to RM300 per year at any selected panel clinic.
Purchase and service transactions are cashless (cashless) that can be used in shops / supermarkets and clinics appointed as panels.
Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin said, each State Assemblyman (ADUN) government is asked to submit 50 names for consideration while in the State Assembly (DUN) constituency, District Officers will submit the same number.
However, he assured, the list of names received will be scrutinized and investigated first.
He advised Caring Card recipients to activate their cards to enable them to use them.
